Our 8-week Venture Forth Program is all about accelerating venture success with a goal of getting your idea to the market as quickly as possible, testing and correcting along the way.

Classes meets weekly to focus on launching your technology venture, customer acquisition, and getting to revenue fast! Some of the topics we cover include,

• Taking the entrepreneurial plunge. We review your personality profiles and success characteristics in the context of your particular interests and aptitudes. This gives you a picture of how to build your business according to your strengths, and who you need to partner with to balance your weaknesses.

• Can I survive on a bootstrapper's budget? We share tricks of the trade for maintaining a revenue stream while you are incubating and proving out your idea.

• Fail Forward Fast. The class works together to review and test ideas quickly, identifying problems, and refining ideas that don't work into business models that thrive. We apply Lean Startup models (among others) to test and iterate quickly and get to revenue.

• How do I find the right team? We discuss how to identify early employees and co-founders, and will work with you on a search through the Tech Ranch Austin network.

• Start up nuts and bolts. We cover everything from business incorporation to financing strategies, and models to paying for healthcare.

• Proving the idea before pulling the trigger. There is an optimal point when you should take a leap and launch your venture. Too early and you are taking on unnecessary risk. Too late and you might miss your window. We will help you find that inflection point.

• Secret (and not so secret) funding avenues. Tech Ranch Austin has a large network of potential funding sources. From Angels to Strategic Partners to Early Customers to The State of Texas Emerging Technology Fund, we will explore funding sources for your venture.

• Researching the market and the competition. Our expert team will lead you in a discussion of how to figure out key questions like, How big is the market? Who are the primary competitors? What is your revenue model? Will a pivot make a big difference?

• 3, 2, 1 Launch (or Abort)! During the last week of the program, we will work with you, the entrepreneur, to refine your Venture Pitch for the second Tech Ranch Venture Pitch to a panel of a potential customer, investor, and expert in your field.

• Building the Pitch. We counsel each venture in the creation of a Venture Pitch based on a successful mix of an investor and customer pitch that helps you get your venture ready for conversations with customers and then investors.
