You can call me - G!
As I have been hanging out at the ranch quite a bit Kevin & Jonas thought a intro was in order. So, here we go...
"A company that is not reinventing itself is slowly dying - slowly dying unfortunately at the rate of Moore's law!" - as I was listening to this podcast by Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, my first thought was geez, that's one fast death! In my opinion, this statement is true of individuals as well. Our fundamental beliefs and values may not change but we evolve and grow to meet the demand of the environment we are in.
As I sit down to write this post, my head is spinning with all the versions of me that have evolved over time. On a personal front I have evolved from a daughter, to an individual, then a wife and most recently a mother and on the professional front from an engineer, to a marketer and an artist to most recently a venture capitalist. But along this journey of self evolution, I hope to hold dear to my heart a strong sense of self based on my value system and what keeps me motivated.
So, what makes me wake up in the morning and go "its a beautiful day"? The answer is simple being able to collaborate with smartest minds in the world - entrepreneurs and being able to participate at the frontier of innovation be it in scientific breakthroughs or new business models. Having worked at a Fortune 500 company, a 20 person start up and a venture capital firm, I have had the opportunity to build different skill sets along the way. But most importantly I was fortunate enough to live in three different continents and experience the culture and people of these wonderful countries (if you are wondering, India, US, Germany and France). These experiences have only reinforced my belief that entrepreneurs as a breed share the same traits - passion and commitment.
I hope to get a chance to share my views and thoughts on themes and topics that an entrepreneur grapples with at some point in his/ her journey. And by the way, if you are still wondering who I am, my name is Gayathri, but you can call me "G" if that makes your life easier... ;-)
