The Pioneer Program Marks Successes

Have you checked in with the Pioneer Program recently? The new year has marked lots of change and maturity in the program. In response to lots of demand post Venture Forth, the Pioneer Program has grown into a “dojo” for entrepreneurship where entrepreneurs come to practice entrepreneurship with each other and with Tech Ranch Partners.

Kevin has been meeting with the program each Tuesday Morning at 8:30AM for 90 minutes and do his darndest to stir the pot and incite ever faster action on the part of the Tech Ranch entrepreneurs. The results are measurable. The Pioneers are experiencing real growth in their ventures as they participate in the Program.

Craig Swanson, of LiveLocal, recently achieved some crucial traction in his venture as a direct result of the Pioneer Program.

“The Pioneer Program helped me identify my first customers in a more focused way than I had before. I was trying to apply LiveLocal too broadly, and I realized that I could niche my initial customers down based on specific categories. As a result, I went from trying to figure out which of the thousands of companies in Austin to approach, to seeing about a dozen companies that need our product right now. Those companies helped us establish a beachhead in the local market.”

Craig got expertise from his entrepreneurial peers to see his dilemma from the outside and that perspective helped him find a solution.
